The remarkable story of our Riedl twins
For almost 50 years, Josef and Albert – our “Riedl twins” – were part of our team together.
What sounds like coincidence was a reality lived out over decades: from the first day of their apprenticeship to their well-earned retirement, the brothers stood side by side in our workshop – and on many construction sites in the region. They shared not only their trade but also their attitude: rolling up their sleeves, being loyal, thinking ahead and shouldering whatever needed to be done.
It is not unusual for twins to take up the same trade. That they practise it together for decades with the same employer – that is something very special. And that is exactly what we at the Forster Group have had the privilege of experiencing.
Anyone who knows the two of them knows: a well-practised team!
Everyone in the company knew: Albert on the left, Josef on the right – whether at work, in photos or in meetings. With a fine sense of humour, a clear view and quiet reliability, they were not only valued colleagues but also true role models.
Our boss Anton Forster: “You could always rely on the two of them. They were there when you needed them – with expertise, experience and a pinch of wit. Employees like that are a gift to any company.”
The Riedls stood firm even in difficult times
When others had doubts, they kept going. When things got stressful, they kept a cool head. They lived the team spirit that defines our company – and for decades their commitment helped shape our working culture.
“We never really thought about moving on – we felt at home here, from start to finish,” Josef Riedl says, looking back. And Albert adds: “If you know what you’re doing – and who you’re doing it with – then half your life is already sorted.”
Today Josef and Albert are retired – but they remain present in our memories and in the stories we tell. Their story is more than just an anecdote: it is a genuine piece of company culture, lived every day.
We say: thank you, Josef and Albert Riedl. For your decades of loyalty, your drive and your passion. You are and will always remain a special part of our history.
