Structural steelwork from Weiden in the Upper Palatinate
Forster has been building with steel for more than 100 years. Today, from its plants in Weiden and Mantel, the Forster Group designs, fabricates and erects steel structures, industrial plants, buildings and tanks – for clients in the region and worldwide. Engineering, steel fabrication and erection stay in one hand: what our engineers design goes digitally to the CNC machines in our plants and is erected on site by our own crews.
Structural steelwork and plant construction
In Weiden we build steel structures for industrial buildings, industrial steelwork and platforms, architectural steelwork such as stairs, railings, bridges and canopies, and steelwork for glass furnaces and float lines. Our saw-drill line processes sections up to 1,000 mm wide; with shot blasting and flame-cutting machines, every component arrives on site prefabricated to the millimetre.
Industrial buildings, tanks and noise control
With IBMS we build turnkey industrial and commercial buildings from 500 m² – and fabricate the steel structure ourselves. Several thousand tanks have been built at the Mantel plant, most of them subject to acceptance inspection: pressure vessels, stainless steel tanks, agitator tanks, reactors and flat-bottom tanks. ANC supplies sound-insulating walls, acoustic enclosures and silencers for buildings, machines and test benches.
Certified quality
Both plants are certified to EN 1090-1, and we weld to EN 1090-2 up to execution class EXC3 – for structural and stainless steel. In addition, we hold ISO 9001 for design, fabrication and erection, and the Mantel plant is certified for pressure equipment to AD 2000 and DIN EN 13445. If you need individual steel beams cut to size, you can order them directly from the Traegerwerk online shop.
